Pharmacy

Pharmacist:  SLVH is seeking a full-time hospital Clinical Pharmacist. Our Pharmacy is open Monday through Friday from 7 am to 5:30 pm and weekends 8:30 am to 5 pm, and our pharmacists rotate overnight call. Our pharmacists interact with patients, family and other healthcare providers to assure desired patient outcomes through safe, timely, cost-effective medication therapy. We provide daily medication profile review, verify orders, consult on dosing, provide drug information; and review and process chemotherapy orders. Qualifications: Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a minimum of a Doctor of Pharmacy degree or a B.S. POSITION TITLE: 
Medical Technologist - Point of Care Supervisor

POSITION DUTIES: 
SUMMARY:  Supervise the Point of Care Department.  DESCRIPTION:  Perform all assigned chemical, microscopic and bacteriologic tests to obtain data for use in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases.  Receive or obtain specimens and conduct testing procedures in one or a combination of recognized fields employing established laboratory techniques.  Analyze findings and record results.  Use high degree of accuracy to avoid any possible error in testing and recording results and to avoid self-contamination.  Train and supervise the laboratory staff composed of 9 medical technologists with regard to new instrumentation and technical procedures.  May instruct technicians or students.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:  Master’s degree in Medical Technology (or equivalent = bachelor’s degree plus 5 years progressive experience), plus at least 3 years experience as a Medical Technologist in a U.S. acute care hospital.  We do not require prior experience for the proffered position.  Must be certified or registered with American Medical Technologists (AMT) or American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP).
WORK HOURS:  40 hours per week (4 days at 10 hours/day) with times varying between 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM; 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM; 9:00 AM to 7:30 PM; or 10:00 AM to 8:30 PM.
