Dr. Jacqueline Garrard, SLV Health Women’s Health Clinic Provider and Colorado Task Force Representative for the American Congress of Obstetrician and Gynecologists, presented on the ways Colorado is reducing morbidity and mortality within the perinatal population.  She presented in Anaheim, California at the Annual District meeting on September 7, 2017.

The Maternal Mortality and Mortality District Vlll Task Force is part of a joint effort between ACOG, the CDC, The Alliance for Maternal Health and the states to reduce US maternal mortality and morbidity. The US has one of the highest maternal mortality and morbidity rates in the industrial world. ACOG sections are working to reduce maternal mortality and morbidity pregnancy complications through development of safety bundles, check lists, and education to health care providers at all levels. Garrard added, “I hope to make an impact at the local and state level and am very excited to share in these efforts with our health care partners.”
