SLV Health Welcomes Dr. Terry Reisner to the La Jara Medical Clinic

San Luis Valley Health is pleased to announce the hiring of Dr. Terry Reisner.  Dr. Reisner joins SLV Health after most recently serving as a Family Physician at the Benewah Medical Center in Plummer, Idaho. 

Dr. Reisner brings over 25 years of experience in Family Medicine to San Luis Valley Health and will work out of the La Jara Medical Clinic.

“We feel very fortunate to have been able to hire someone that brings so much to our team,” said Kelly Gallegos, Conejos County Hospital Administrator.  “Dr. Reisner will be a great fit for our community and is already serving patients in our community in a positive way.”

Upon completing medical school at the University Of Iowa College Of Medicine, Dr. Reisner did a three-year residency training in Family Practice at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona.  He then entered the United States Air Force, serving as a family physician in Mt. Home, Idaho for four years.

With over 25 years of experience in Family Medicine, Dr. Reisner has treated patients of all ages from many different backgrounds.  During that time, he has also developed expertise in Sports Medicine, as well as Geriatric care.

“I am looking forward to meeting more people in the community and providing for their healthcare needs,” explained Dr. Reisner.  “My family and I are excited to call the San Luis Valley home and look forward to meeting you.”
