San Luis Valley Medical Wall of Fame

About This Event

For more than a century, the San Luis Valley has been fortunate to have qualified professionals providing a quality healthcare experience to all who live here. On May 17, 2019, the Medical Wall of Fame Committee for the San Luis Valley will be honoring five people who were chosen to be outstanding examples of this ideal during the Medical Wall of Fame 2019 Induction Ceremony at the SLVH Conference Center in Alamosa.

The Medical Wall of Fame Committee began this recognition in 2016 to recognize notable individuals who gave of themselves for 20 years or more to their profession and their community. Since that date, more than two dozen honorees have received a place of distinction on the wall, located on the second floor of the SLV Health Medical Center.

This year, the inductees are:

John Haskin, MD, who practiced general medicine and surgery and lived in the Center area, dedicating 32 years of medical service to the valley.

Robert Kelly, MD, who developed a great rapport with his colleagues as the valley’s only pediatrician for many years.

Connie Poole, LPN, who retired in 2011 after 34 years of nursing in several different organizations, including Alamosa Hospital’s Emergency Room and Valley-Wide Health Systems.

Rosalina Velasquez, RN, MSN, who is best known as the supervising nurse instructor at the former SLV Area Vocational School, now Trinidad State Jr. College, Valley Campus.

Roger Vigil, who is a legacy at SLV Health as the Director of Building Services, serving the hospital for more than 40 years as a dedicated and experienced leader.

Please join the committee and family members in honoring this fine class of inductees at 5 p.m. on Friday, May 17, 2019 at the SLVH Conference Center, 1921 Main Street, Alamosa, Colorado. For questions, please contact 719-587-5707.
