Linda Vaughan, CCC-A,MA
Linda Vaughan, MA, CCC-A, joined the Audiology Clinic at San Luis Valley Health in July of 2010, bringing to the practice 30+ years of experience. "I chose a career in audiology because I was attracted to the science and I wanted a career that would make a difference and have a positive impact on people's lives."
She is proud to be a third-generation Colorado native. She is a graduate of Aurora Central High School and has undergraduate and graduate degrees from the University of Northern Colorado. Her career has taken her all over the U.S., beginning at the world's largest otology practice, the House Ear Clinic in Los Angeles. Linda then became a director at a large hospital in Pennsylvania, Geisinger Medical Center, until she was offered a position to work with reservation communities in New Mexico and Colorado, followed by several years at the University of New Mexico. She later returned east to work for the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) before serving as Director of Infant Hearing for the State of Maryland.
Still, she missed her home state of Colorado. "Coming to Alamosa was an opportunity to come back home and to get back into clinical practice, which I really missed."
Linda is an audiologist for all ages, with an expertise in pediatrics and public health. Now that Linda is here and can provide diagnostic services at San Luis Valley Health, patients don't have to spend time traveling out of the Valley. "We want to catch hearing loss as soon as possible. Time is of the essence."
