Melissa Voutsalath, DO
Dr. Melissa Voutsalath (pronounced VOOT-sah-la), originally from a small town in Iowa, is excited to be providing Family Practice care with an emphasis in Dermatology to patients of all ages at the San Luis Valley Health, Stuart Avenue Clinic. Dr. Voutsalath received her doctorate at the De Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery in 2008 and has worked as a Physician in medical centers, urgent care centers and in the department of dermatology in at the University of Michigan as a research fellow in cutaneous surgery and oncology. In her free time, Dr. Voutsalath enjoys partaking in outdoor activities including snowshoeing, camping and hiking and values time where she is able to practice playing the guitar, reading a book or spending family time with her husband and two boys. Her experience along with her teaching experience with the Foundations of Doctoring through the University of Colorado School of Medicine and as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Parker Colorado, allow her to bring experience and wide knowledge base to her patients in rural, southern Colorado.
