Before coming to SLV Health, Saffer was the Chief Resident of Emergency Medicine at Beaumont Hospital in Farmington Hills. He completed his Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine at the Rocky Vista University of Osteopathic Medicine, specializing in the Rural and Wilderness Medicine Honors Track. He received his Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences from Colorado State University.
He likes to spend his recreational time hiking, climbing, rafting, paddle boarding, and skiing. He is looking forward to practicing emergency medicine in a rural setting where he can be outdoors year round.
