Important Construction Information

The Emergency Department at Conejos County Hospital, La Jara, Colorado, will remain open during construction. As of October 25, 2018, the entrance for the public, whether emergent or using outpatient, will be through the main admission entry (east).  Patients and families will be directed to turn left as they enter the grounds and drive past the construction site.  Temporary emergency rooms have been updated and remodeled for this transition period, expected to last through August of 2019.  The ambulance bay will be in the back of the facility (west) entrance and will not be accessible to the general public.

Conejos County Hospital is a 17-bed, critical access hospital, and the only emergency service provider in Conejos and Costilla County. 

Serving the area since 1963, CCH currently provides for the emergency medical needs of over 3,000 patients each year.  With so much need in the 2,514 square mile area, CCH is always strengthening the quality and safety of emergency care delivery.

Conejos County Hospital has also initiated a Hospitalist program, which has been vital in attracting and retaining new physicians, since our primary care providers no longer have to be on call from the hospital.
