Urology
Urology is a part of specialty health care that deals with diseases of the urinary tract, such as kidneys, ureters, bladder and urethra in both males and females. In males, urology care deals with issues located in the testes, penis, scrotum and prostate. Symptoms that should not be ignored are blood in the urine and/or consistent pain or burning while urinating.
While urology services are offered on a part-time basis in Alamosa, they
are robust and thorough. Procedures may include bladder scans, cystoscopies,
kidney stones, prostrate biopsies, and transurethral resection of the
prostate (TURPS). SLV Health Urology Clinic at Stuart Ave in Alamosa offers
Shock Wave Lithotripsy.
This procedure safely blasts the kidney stone into smaller pieces that
can be passed through your urinary tract.
SLV Health offers compassionate, quality care focused on the patient by partnering with specialists and strives to understand each patient's unique urologic problems to provide the best possible treatment plan.
Urology services are provided by Gary W. Bong, MD; Henry Rosevear, MD, Richard A. Walsh, III, MD, and Daniel Sours, NP.
