Jason Defee, MD

Jason Defee, MD, is a valued member of the SLV Health Orthopedic Team. Dr. Defee is a Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon with 13 years of experience practicing in San Angelo, Texas. He began his academic journey at Galveston College before earning a degree in Business Administration/Management from Baylor University, where he was a three-sport athlete. He went on to complete his residency and obtain his Doctorate of Medicine from UT Health Science Center in Houston.

Throughout his career, Dr. Defee has contributed his expertise to numerous advisory boards and committees and has served as an adjunct professor at Angelo State University.

His specialties and interests include joint replacement (shoulders, hips, knees), sports injuries (including ligament injuries), work-related injuries (including hand injuries), and he brings experience as a team physician for both college and high school teams. Dr. Defee has also served as a consultant for Stelkast, Inc.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Defee enjoys snowboarding, while his wife is passionate about mountain biking as they care for their two children.
