Del Norte High School Football Team Raises $1,000 with Pink Nights Fundraiser

The Del Norte High School Football team recently demonstrated that its commitment to the community goes beyond the football field. During their football season, the team organized a special Pink Nights fundraiser to support San Luis Valley Health.
The Pink Nights event brought together players, coaches, families, and community members, all united with a goal to raise awareness and funds for women’s health. As part of the fundraiser, the kids sold their Pink Jerseys. Decked out in pink-themed gear, the team rallied support both on and off the field, encouraging donations and spreading the message of early detection and support for those impacted by breast cancer.
Thanks to the generosity of everyone involved, the Del Norte High School Football team successfully raised $1,000.00. These funds will support the Stephanie L. Miner Women’s Imaging Center, an important resource for women’s imaging and cancer screening in the San Luis Valley.
Coach Austin McDonald and his team expressed their gratitude to the community by supporting this important cause. During the event, Coach McDonald addressed the crowd, saying, “Tonight is about more than football, wrestling, or sports. It’s about family, strength, and standing together. Cancer doesn’t just affect one person. It affects parents, siblings, grandparents, teammates, and friends. But it also shows us what real courage looks like. The courage of those who fight and the strength of the families who stand beside them every step of the way.”
With Pink Nights, the Del Norte Tigers have proven that when a community comes together, they can make a difference.
