SLV Health Named an Inaugural Colorado Maternal & Infant Care Quality Champion

SLV Health is proud to announce it has been designated as a 2025 Maternal and Infant Care Quality Champion by the Colorado Perinatal Care Quality Collaborative (CPCQC). SLV Health is one of just 34 Colorado hospitals recognized for achieving a 100% annual engagement record in at least 1 CPCQC-led clinical quality initiative.

The recognition comes alongside the launch of CPCQC’s latest statewide reporting: Stronger Systems, Safer Births: Colorado’s 2025 Hospital Quality Improvement Report. This report evaluates hospital clinical quality improvement engagement ahead of mandatory annual participation requirements taking full effect under state law (C.R.S. § 25-52-106.5).

By participating in evidence-based AIM Patient Safety Bundles, the care team at SLV Health is actively implementing standardized checklists and safety protocols to address the leading causes of maternal morbidity and mortality in Colorado and promoting safe and respectful patient care.

I would especially like to recognize our OB Manager, Terisa Valdez, whose leadership and commitment to quality improvement through the Colorado Perinatal Care Quality Collaborative have been instrumental in this achievement.
