Garcia to Head Alamosa Ambulance

San Luis Valley Health welcomes Darrick Garcia, as the new Director of Emergency Medical Services (EMS), Alamosa Ambulance. As a former member of the crew, Garcia has been serving in the interim role for the past several months. Darrick grew up in the San Luis Valley, graduated from Centauri High School, and completed a basic EMT certification from Trinidad State while serving as a firefighter. He then completed paramedic training at St. Anthony’s and graduated from Adams State with his BSN in nursing. He is impressed by the level of professionalism and caring he has experienced while learning the ropes as a director. His goal is to support and strengthen the crew. Darrick is known as a team player by his peers and has been warmly received as the director. When he has downtime, Darrick enjoys hunting and fishing.
